Brooklands band win national award
AN ASHFORD band have won a songwriting award at the National Festival of Music for Youth.
Teenage rockers Hollow Limit, who left Brooklands College, Ashford, last month, won the national award for Outstanding Original Composition at the ceremony in Birmingham on July 7.
The band, which formed three years ago, is made up of frontman Dan Evans, lead guitar Mike Lidiard, rhythm guitar Tommy Goodrick, bassist George Pardoe and drummer Luke Veryard.
Guitarist Mike said: "We are so thrilled to have won this - it means a lot because the judges, who are already in the industry, thought our material was really good and we got very positive feedback from them and from other people at the competition.
"It gives us a real incentive to keep writing, performing and recording and we are on a real high at the moment."
