Thomas Knyvett College makes good progress
Pupils at Thomas Knyvett College continued their good progress with another improvement in results after being moved out of special measures in January.
The school, which was formerly Ash Technology College, was put on the government critical list because it was failing to give its pupils an acceptable standard of education three and a half years ago.
But in January it was deemed to have improved significantly and an increase from 41% A*-C grades last year to 45% this, would appear to reflect that.
The results were particularly impressive in maths, which saw 60% of students getting A*-C, English, which saw 53% of students getting A*-C, and science, where results were up about 10% on last year.
Head teacher Nicola Aboud said: "We are very pleased that the students have done so well. We are anticipating a significant leap in results for 2009 and the future of the college is very bright."
