Getting Political

What with the world now looking at the shiny new President of America, little us here in the backwaters of London are being overlooked yet again as we dive into a situation that will be like the 1980's again but even more news coverage, but hopefully better hairdo's.

Now hopefully, I can turn this to my advantage... 'he hopes'

The one thing people do more of when things are bad is COMPLAIN about the Government, Councils and pretty much everything they can moan at. This in turn makes writers of papers, journals and blogs around the world want to report on this with stories about how it is 'ALL THEIR FAULT' and how 'GOOD' it used to be. This is where 'if I adapt me skills correctly' I will be able to sneak in with my graphics.

Now I would never class myself as a caricatuist or even able to spell the damned word, but needs must as the expression goes, so I am going to start looking into 'political' related caricature spot tooning.

I have a little foothold with the council and conservatives in this area now, so I have a little spingboard for some illustrations, but it's all down to being able to get a clear idea or message across in a few simple lines which I have to work on. I do ALL my pictures fully on a PC, which makes it easy to color, but has it's drawbacks also... a main one being that I am trapped at a desk rather than on a sofa with a pad of paper watching 'Have I got news for you'.

It's not really a path I want to get into as I am not a 'political' person by nature, but if I can get a style and speed worked out it could actually pay some bills off.

The above illustration was only a quick 5 minute toon as my missus said 'Toon Obama' the other day to I thought I would indulge and do a speedy 'illio' for this article I am writing now.
