They may have dressed up to the nines but a WAGS day at St David's School in Ashford took on a whole different meaning.

For instead of the theme being about Wives And Girlfriends of a celebrity, the year 11 and sixth form students were taught that it stands for Working And Gaining Success.

Firefighters doused the flames in a car that caught fire on Wednesday last week (12) in Parkland Grove, Ashford, at about 2.50am.

No one was hurt during the blaze.

DTDBUSINESS HEAD WEEK PIC.jpg

The weekend is here again, they seem to be getting here faster each week.. I don't know if this is a good thing or not but this coming week will be hectic for me.

Please note.... comma's tend to run wild in my writing, this is not bad grammar, it's just that I didn't use them as a kid and now they want lots of attention!

I tend to never argue with punctuation... It's silly!

A situation where you end up burning your future and all your hopes and dreams, just to keep warm in the present.

Time ticks on and people drag their feet... This is normal, but in this shiny, new and now RECORD BREAKING recession, time is money and the less we have the more we borrow from our future, which in turn makes the future harder... we know it, but we have to do it to survive.

I think I will do a Bankers with our money illustration next time, it seems quite apt I feel with the current feelings of England towards the upperclass banking monopoly.

Ironically I think the play money in a monopoly board game is actually worth more than the game costs now. We have all said 'Oh, Imagine if this Monopoly Money was REAL MONEY' at some stage, well now it's technically better than real money! Go figure!

letterbox.jpgBurglars have broken into two Ashford homes and tried to raid several more by reaching through the letterbox to open the front door.

And residents are being warned to lock themselves in at night after intruders got into the homes in Avondale Road and Gordon Road that had not been deadlocked on Friday January 23.

snow.jpgSnow has brought Surrey to a standstill as schools have closed, services have been cancelled and residents have been urged to stay inside.

Surrey County Council closed all schools in the county this morning due to the severe weather conditions.
