April 2009 Archives

Ghost hunters from Spelthorne will be on the prowl as they undergo an investigation in a haunted abbey in June.

Middlesex Paranormal Investigation (MPI) will be spending a night at Beaulieu Abbey in the New Forest to try and find evidence and apparitions of ghostly goings-on to raise money for war charity Help for Heroes.

A NEW HOPE.. Stolen title

Beginning again...

Well we are finally in our new home and I even have my own little studio seperate from the house.

When I first got to the studio it was a terrible blue, had an old tumble dryer in the corner and various broken shelves around the place and looked rather drab with various tins of the offending paint strewn about the place in a rather unpleasing manner.

After a week of being here it is now a plush red with a barn door in red and white... I should point out its a deep wine red not 'letter box red' which is a mistake I made as a teenager in my first apartment... much to the dismay of my landlord at the time.

I have all my needs catered for in here when it comes to working on graphics, I have my computer (currently running Windows 7, which is silly as its only beta, but it's sooo pretty I couldn't resist). My two seater red linen sofa is behind me with standing uppy lamps and a big mirror on the wall in the middle, a cute little double glazed window and a whole collection of other things that help.. like surround sound, guitar, telephone, video cam (doubles as a HIGH quality webcam) as well as various other odds 'n' sods. Not got a kettle for my coffee in here as my other half would never actually see me once I get back into the swing of things.

I have some meetings this week and a tonne of paperwork regarding changes of address and having to inform banks alas.... why do you HAVE to tell them... it's not fair! Lets start a petition and have it so we can just hide away from them like a fun game show?

One of the biggest things that has changed, apart from the fact we have an amazingly georgious house and my spelling is still totally off par with the oxford english dictionary is that in here (The Studio) I can lock the door and have my own space to work, away from the kids, the TV and the general hustle and .... ok I will have to stop there as it's a LIE, Ethan is constantly at the door and perched on the sofa behind me trying to spin my around in the spinny office chair which is ok at the moment, but he is going to be stressed at me when I am working and he cant get in.... this is why I have left the outside of the studio door it's original rustic old look.. that way the blood from his fists as he tries to pummel his way through will just get pained over in the future.

Sooo.. new home that is actually homely, FIRST actual studio and all I need now are commissions or that job I am still struggling for... So come on people... get a graphics guy on your team:)

Email me at DarwinianTheory@gmail.com and lets see how I can help:) I know there is a recession on, but if you saw how much large companies charge for what I do... it's a no brainer and you don't want to be spending LOADS of money when you could just spend some:) Don't think of it as employing someone.. think of it as making your life better:)

::RANDOM FACT::

Gloss paint is still soft 12 hours later and three year old boys can make pretty patterns in it, a source of endless enjoyment for the kid and endless fun for the owner to repaint until the window is blocked my 3ft of Gloss paint.
