Grill catches alight in Ashford

Firefighters were called to a small kitchen fire in a flat in Anderson Drive on Monday July 20.

At around 9.30pm, fire crews from Staines were called to a 30-year-old air stewardess' house after she burnt some food on her grill.

The firemen put out the fire and no damage was caused.

Ashford Horticultural Society are holding their annual summer show on Saturday July 18 at St Matthew's Church in Church Road.

The event will see displays of flowers, fruit, and vegetables grown by members, as well as floral art, handicraft and cookery.

The show, which has been running for more than 100 years, will start at 2.30pm.
