Ashford children became traffic cops on Wednesday August 12 as part of A2 Dominion's summer youth project.

Finance director Paul Rust, 43, was on holiday when theives raided a detached home he shares with his parents on Monday July 6, after forcing a kitchen window and opening a back door.

The club, which belongs to St Michael's Church in Fordbridge Road, Ashford and which has a 300-strong membership, closed on Monday last week, becoming the latest victim of the recession, according to Major Jim Overton, the priest.

Cheryl Sibley, her husband Stephen, and their grown-up son Thomas, were asleep in their home in Beards Avenue on July 7 when somebody placed a lit can of petrol under a camper van in their driveway.

An Ashford based band are due to release their second album next week with the help of an Ashford based music company.

Eskimo Project, which is run by Paul Bassett, are releasing 'Once Around the Sun' on Monday September 7, and are in talks with HMV in Staines to get the album sold there.

Police target vehicle crime

Copper piping was stolen from a van parked in a residential road on Monday August 10.

Between 12.15am and 1.15am a white panel van was broken into by thieves in Townsend Road, Ashford.

Bicycles and tools were stolen during a four strong spate of burglaries at the weekend.

Police believe the burglaries, which occurred in sheds and garages in Ashford, took place sometime between Friday July 31 to Sunday August 2.
