Drawn-Together: Teaching Art???

Posted by DarwinianTheory on Sep 8, 09 03:38 PM in Bloggers

dtdad.jpgWell now the BBTOONS adventure has concluded and I will be going back to concentrating on getting full employment doing graphics and illustrations again.

I am also going to look into what I need to do to become an art teacher.... this is one of my ideas that has made my other half smile as she thought I should go into teaching years ago. I just have to decide what age groups I would like to teach for and what mediums of art I actually can do, ideally digital graphics obviously... so will go well with the kids computer lessons.

Cont...

I had the idea as my little boy is coming up to 4 years old and going to be going to school for the first time tomorrow, hence education comes to mind quite easily. I may start illustrating some little stories for my kids too and make them available online.

BUSINESS MEETINGS

As ever I have been attending the Spelthorne Business Forum meetings and even a big event where I was a guest of the Lady Mayor of Spelthorne and had the great joy of sitting with heads of Tesco's and HSBC bank.... between them both they have ALL my money... so conversation was interesting:) After that I attended the SBF meeting on a paddle steamer where I found my sea legs and made a few more contacts in the local business world. Hopefully some of the people that I have been talking with will have something on the cards in the near future.

The other week I attended a private wine and cheese bash at RetailTherapy TV in Anshford. In a nutshell they are a digital composite film studio (green screens, tv monitors, auto cue's etc). They seemed impressed with my graphics and should be getting back in touch for a one to one meeting... so fingers crossed on that one.

It's very odd trying to sell yourself rather than a product, I just wish I was one of those arty sorts that was good at selling themselves... I always start off as a little 'MEAK' to start with before I come out of my shell. I much prefer being able to just point people to what I have done in the past and explain nice and simply how I can help their company or product.. generally this works well... generally anyway.

WEBSITE

Well over the next week I have the FUN job of re-inventing my folio website and also redesigning the bbtoons website so that the Big Brother Fans can get thier cartoon images still which I created. I think this folio this will smaller than the last one and will only have two or three examples of my best works... hopefully that will work well. Also a nice big area stating that I dont just do cartooning but also business illustration, design and marketing aswell as product visualisations... will lay off the TECH talk I think as it either makes me look big headed or totally looses the reader and they wander off to a website they can understand.

SPELTHORNE EMAG

I wrote an article on website design a few months back which should be in the NEXT edition of the Spelthorne E-Mag publication, so if your interested in the basic theory behind ANY website and how it should look and feel... keep an eye out for it:)

We'd like to hear from you.
