Multi-agency team get together for action day in Ashford
A collection of emergency services and local authority bodies met on Wednesday September 16 to enforce the law.
The latest Safer Stronger Spelthorne Partnership Action Day, which is a collection of the police, fire service, Environment Agency, the DVLA, councillors and council officers, took place in and around Ashford.
During the day crime prevention, personal safety advice, and enforcement activities were carried out, including twenty six licensing visits, three vehicle prohibitions, one vehicle seizure, thirteen warnings of no tax, and two arrests for theft of bicycles.
Spelthorne neighbourhood inspector Sarah Greenhalgh said: "Partnership action days are a reinforcement of our commitment to listening to and engaging with the community in order to address their concerns."
Tim Kita, head of communications and corporate service at Spelthorne Council, said: "Community safety is one of the top priorities for us. This initiative provides an excellent opportunity to demonstrate a multi-agency approach to addressing community safety issues."
The next action day will be held in Shepperton later this year.
