Ashford Freemason plunges into the cold cold sea for charity
A drunken bet the night before led to a Freemason from Ashford donning shorts and plunging into freezing cold water for charity.
Simon Hodkins, 37, of London Road, stood in the sea at Bournemouth on Sunday November 22 with his 35-year-old friend Jed , from Windsor and raised, £350 for Slough Homeless Our Concern for standing in the cold water during heavy winds for 15 minutes.
Both men are Slough Freemasons and work at Heathrow Airport, and were out drinking the night before when they made the bet.
Mr Hodkins said: "This was just one way of raising cash for a charity that is very important to us. Homelessness is a real blight on out society. We wanted to do something positive to help the crisis."
Mr Lawton said: "Yes, it was very cold, but homeless people suffer from the cold all year. We just suffered for 15 minutes
