A multi-million pound vision set to save the Ashford campus of Brooklands College has been announced by the interim principal.

After only 12 days in the job, Bill Grady has laid out his plans for securing the college for future generations after months of uncertainty following the withdrawal of funding by the Learning Skills Council (LSC).

Students from Brooklands College celebrated the good news on Thursday January 14
as Mr Grady announced Ashford campus would not close and A-levels will run at Weybridge.

New plans for Ashford include:

A new salon for hair and beauty students and the introduction of hair & beauty level 3
£1m plans to restore Ashford Grammar school.

Options to work in partnership with a supermarket chain who could build a store on site.

Mr Grady, who has worked in further education for 43 years and has worked with eight colleges during their recovery, said: "This is straight forward if we get support from the LSC and we could be firing on all cylinders within 18 months to two years. This college is one of the easy ones."

We'd like to hear from you.
