Woman who claimed she was attacked in Staines retracts her statement

An assault in Staines on Saturday January 16 is no longer being investigated because the victim has retracted her statement.

At around 4am the young woman, who is in her 20s, said she was assaulted by a man in his mid-20s while she was walking alone in a subway near Station Path.

Police were looking for witnesses due to a lack of CCTV in the area, but the woman has since retracted her statement.
